Engaging children with archaeology

Archeokids has been invited by Fondazione Scuola dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali, a foundation dedicated to training, research and higher education founded by the Italian Ministry for Culture, to deliver three lectures within the Course in Cultural Heritage Communication funded by Regione Sardegna. My lecture focused on how digital tools and Internet can contribute to making didactic activities more creative and interactive.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, museum educators, teachers and cultural institutions are looking for new approaches to engage children with archaeology. This lecture proposed some activities combining hands-on approaches with some free online tools used in a creative way.
